Dearest Laura

Today is your birthday.  It’s been 24 years since I first held you in my arms.  I still remember that feeling and the sight of holding you for the first time.  I felt like I was a child holding a child.  I was so young. I had no idea as to how you would change my world.  And you did in so many wonderful ways.

I remember your smiles, your laughter, and our special days alone just hanging out even though you may have only been able to lay flat on my chest because you were so small … but it was out time.  Very happy moments and they were that way only because of you.  You made them special and you brought me so much joy. You still do…

I have so many loving, fond memories of you.

So today is a special day.  It’s your special day.  I honor it with this small note and just by saying I love you and you are always very close to me.
